Welcome to Come Boating!

Come Boating!’s mission is to create educational boating-related programs that preserve and broaden the maritime heritage shared by the Belfast area community and strengthen our connection to the sea.  We are a volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to bringing people together to enjoy and celebrate boats and boating on beautiful Belfast Harbor and the Passagassawaukeag River.  No matter what your skill level or experienced is, we offer boating opportunities for fun, exercise, and learning.

During the summer we offer free community rowing daily in our 32-foot, six-oar wooden Cornish pilot gigs Selkie and Belle Fast.  No experience is required.  The daily rowing schedule can be found here: Rowing Schedule 2012.

Our free community sailing program provides an opportunity for up to four people to sail on a Drascomb Lugger with an experienced skipper.

Special rows and sails can be arranged for organizations, businesses, families and other groups.

We sponsor an annual regatta, participate in pilot gig racing competitions, and offer other activities that encourage the camaraderie of boating enthusiasts.
