Community Sailing
Come Boating! Begins Community Sailing Program
This summer Come Boating! is offering its second year community sailing program in addition to its community rowing program. Experienced skippers will take up to four people on free two-hour sails on Belfast Harbor and Penobscot Bay on a Drascombe Lugger 18' 9" open sailboat. Sails are scheduled several times a week. No previous sailing experience is required. Participants must sign up in advance on the registration forms that are in the black mail box at the Come Boating! boat shed near the boat launch.
Sails should be starting in June and are weather dependent, and may be cancelled or shortened by the skipper. Download the schedule below or pick one up at the Come Boating! boat shed.

Participants should wear rubber soled flat shoes and bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, and a wind/rain jacket. Come Boating! will provide life jackets. Alcohol and smoking are not permitted on the sailboat.
Come Boating! offers community rowing in its 32-foot pilot gigs several mornings and afternoons each week. Participants must sign up in advance at the boat shed.
As a community boating organization, Come Boating!’s programs are intended to preserve and broaden the maritime heritage shared by the Belfast area community and strengthen its connection to the sea.
