Regatta 2008

The 8th Annual Come Boating! Rowing Regatta was held on Saturday, July 28, 2008. Many thanks to all of the Come Boating! members and friends who helped make it a successful and fun event. Races were held for both adults and kids, new folks were introduced to our organization and were taken on some community rows, information was distributed and many many delicious treats were sold to the general public.

Race Results

Long Course:

• 1st Place Scull – Dan Guiod of Belfast (43 minutes)
• 1st Place Canoe – George Hill of Brunswick (47 minutes, 25 seconds)
• 1st Place Rowboat – Craig Robinson of Hingham, MA (48 minutes)
• 1st Place Gig – Selkie with Malcolm Gater as the coxswain with a crew including Jim Bahoosh, Eric Beenfeldt, Greg Morley, Wesley Reddick, Willy Reddick and Skye Stewart (34 minutes, 37 seconds)

Other Races:

• Youth and Adult, Shorter course for Gigs, 1st Place for Youth – Rowan, Declan, Noah, Captain Jack and friends from Station Maine in Rockland (16 minutes)
• Short Course 1st Place for Adults – Greg Morley in a nutshell pram (6 minutes)
• Short Course Youth (also in nutshell prams) – 1st Place, Zac Lear; 2nd Place, Rowan Walauski; 3rd Place, Sammy Kostusyk; 4th Place, Trisha Kostusyk
