Come Boating! 2017 Rowing Regatta Information

COME BOATING! presents the 17th Annual Regatta on August 19, 2017!

This year, the Regatta will be a 4 mile race starting at 10am. Pilot Gigs and any rowed or paddled boats are welcome. Please register BEFORE August 16th.  Click HERE.

Online registration will open soon. In-person sign-in with assignment of boat numbers, etc. will be held at 8 a.m. at Come Boating!’s tent which will be set up near the Boat House at Steamboat Public Landing. Boatswain’ and skipper’s meeting at 9am, and race begins at 10am. Afterwards,all participants should join us for a luncheon, award of prizes and good company!

The Regatta is part of Belfast’s Harbor Fest, a celebration of boats and Belfast’s marine heritage. Waterfront activities will include the National Boatbuilding Challenge, maritime exhibits, demonstrations and speakers, a blueberry pancake breakfast, children’s nautical activities, live music, and delicious food!

The new 2017 course is 4 nautical miles, rather than last year’s 5 miles.  With the early start, there may be other added races and activities.

10:00 am 4 Mile Race (staggered start by category)

12:00ish Awards in various classes

After Awards Food & Fun

1:00ish Youth race and men’s challenge

YOU MUST SIGN A WAIVER IN PERSON

Parking: Parking for Pilot Gigs will be provided by the City of Belfast near the Launching Ramp. Other vehicle parking is available in various city parking lots. Please be aware that the City of Belfast does ticket.

Rest Rooms: Public rest rooms are available right near the launching ramp, as well as in the Boat House near the starting/finish line.

Race numbers: Race numbers will be provided at the time of registration and should be taped to both sides of your bow.
