The ComeBoating! men’s Team has been putting in a dedicated training effort this year, and all those oar hours paid off at the 31st annual Head of the Weir race in Hull, Massachusetts. Rowers Ethan Shaw, Kyffin Dolliver, Geir Gaseidnes, John Dillenbeck, Andrew Carpenter, and Matt Dingle, under the command of coxswain Rowan Walauski, navigated the 5.5 mile course in 49 minutes and 19 seconds, ably winning their category. The Hull Lifesaving Museum hosted the race and provided the subsequent celebration feast. Over 150 rowers plied the course in a wide array of watercraft. Besides the pilot gigs championed by ComeBoating!, the race attracted workboats, single and double livery boats, ocean shells and work boats from throughout the northeast.
Congratulations to the CB men’s team on their triumphant trip to Hull!
