We’re excited to announce the Winter Adventure Series, in collaboration with the Belfast Free Library. All events are free and open to the public, and at the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library.
Tuesday January 16th, 6:30: illustrated talk: A Ride Through Time at French & Webb. Todd French will give an overview of the exceptional projects they have completed over the last 20 years in the custom boat building business, using cutting-edge methods in combination with traditional craftsmanship. Located in Belfast, French & Webb is one of Maine’s premiere yacht builders.
Tuesday February 20th 6:30: film presentation Go Ganges! Two friends in a foreign land on a quest to travel the ultimate river. Television producers and adventure travelers Josh Thomas and J.J. Kelley test their skills on an epic adventure down India’s sacred river, the Ganges. Q&A via Skype with J.J. Kelly.
Tuesday March 20th, 6:30: illustrated talk: The Arnold Expedition. A group of experiential historians, led by W. Hodding Carter, set off from Pittston, Maine in a replica 18th century bateau to retrace Benedict Arnold’s 1775 expedition to sack Quebec City for the Continental Army. Carter, a Camden-area award-winning author, will give a multi-media presentation about the adventure.
Tuesday April 17th, 6:30: film presentation: Losing Sight of Shore. Documentary by Sarah Moshman about the extraordinary journey of four brave women known as the Coxless Crew that set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia. This is a story of perseverance, friendship, and the power of the human spirit. This special screening is made possible with support from Front Street Shipyard.
